At a Special General Meeting last night it was confirmed that the Lincolnshire Football League, as it stands currently, will be deemed null & void. The Lincolnshire League Committee have worked tirelessly to get as many games played as possible but with so many weeks having already been postponed and the uncertainty of when we will be able to get back playing the decision was made and agreed unanimously by all clubs.
The committee are now working hard on a plan to get all clubs back playing competitive football as soon as lockdown ends - whether that be smaller Split Local Leagues or various Cup Competitions - but of course that will all be dictated by the National Lockdown and any potential 'Tier Systems' that may be in place.
With our Reserves East Lincs Combination League, emails have been sent to all clubs regarding continuing the season after lockdown but with far fewer teams in the league and almost half the season having already been played, it is much more likely that the season can be finished in time with some games being played midweek - dependent on Clubs facilities being available and their willingness to play.
It's unprecedented times and it's going to be a while before we're back to 'normality' but there is now light at the end of the tunnel and we can soon look forward to getting back on the pitch. We hope everyone is well and we look forward to seeing you all again.
Stay Safe.
